Beaded Inset Cabinetry

Located in the original neighborhood of Ansonborough, this Charleston Single from the 1840's was again in need of refurbishment. By omitting the large soffit and bringing the new custom cabinetry to meet the ceiling, we were able to maximize use of the space and visually draw the eye up to appreciate the high ceilings in this kitchen.

Hilton Head Dream Kitchen

Nestled in the heart of Hilton Head Plantation, this classic island cottage was in need of refurbishment, and was certainly brought back to life! By manipulating the use of interior space, the newly assigned kitchen area is now flooded with bright cabinetry and natural light. Paired with honed marble countertops, and a dramatic to-the-ceiling backsplash, this costal contemporary kitchen is a stunner! The island seats four yet leaves plenty of room for food preparation. An adjacent dry bar and dining area make this large space feel cohesive and intimate.   

Shimmering Views

Drab pine cabinets and a constricted layout called for a major makeover.  The home is situated on the water, the sparkling waterway visible from the back of the house.  We added reflective tile and white cabinets to brighten the space, and at the new bar a mirrored backsplash reflects the water view beyond.  Stainless steel appliances including a custom shapely hood dazzle in this coastal and classic kitchen.  

South of Broad Corner Exterior

Originally built in 1770's this Charleston house was in need of repairs and updates. Located on one of the cities most iconic corners in the South of Broad neighborhood it is constantly the subject of photo shoots and tour guide tales.  The new owners wanted to maintain a sense of nostalgia and southern charm while adding modern conveniences to create a state of the art historic home for their family. It was a complete renovation to include a new kitchen, wet bar, pantry, dining room and bathrooms; many of these rooms relocated to different areas of the house creating a more efficient flow with an elegant transformation.

HIs and Her Vanities

A downtown Charleston single with a fresh new primary bathroom. Removing the  angled shower and outdated cabinetry made room for a large shower and two separate his and her sinks and vanity spaces. The space was completely re-configured with the closet space reallocated: we moved the bathroom forward creating an entry from the bathroom into the shared closet, in the original layout, there were separate his and hers closets and a hallway space to access them leaving a much smaller space for the bathroom. The new space includes natural light in both the closet and bathroom with doors to access the second floor piazza.

This fresh kitchen renovation was a dramatic change for this Mt. Pleasant family.  The refrigerator was relocated and a peninsula eliminated in favor of an island.  The appliances were replaced and the pretty cabinet color was selected to compliment the aqua shade in the sparkling quartz.

Serene cabinets in a custom gray finish to match artistic water jet tile were the order of the day for this at home chef's kitchen on James Island.  The clients are avid boaters and gardeners so fresh seafood and goodness from the garden are de rigueur.  The island chopping block provides needed prep space and open storage below for cooking gear.  Antique mirror is installed in the doors flanking the hood adding additional dazzle to this elegant new space and a secret storage pantry is hidden behind pocked doors.  The microwave, blender and nutritional supplements are close at hand, yet out of site.

A sparkling Bathroom

"Bright" "light" and "fresh" were some of the words our client used to describe the ideal bathroom she would share with her husband.  We added marble tile, gleaming fixtures and sparkling custom lighting weaving in a circular theme to the reconfigured space.  Ample storage and a place to sit were important additions, decorative furniture elements like feet and moulding along with stealthy spaces for bathroom necessities were the finishing touches to this glam space.

Charleston Kitchen with an island

The renovation of this historic home originally built in 1794 took nearly two years from planning to completion and features many original elements including the brick.  Interesting elements include the glass panel at the front of one fireplace that allows access to the underground cisterns discovered during demolition. The home is located on Charleston's peninsula in the famous area known as "South of Broad" and includes a wet bar area and two fireplaces.

A diminutive kitchen in an historic home which is now being used as an Air B-N-B in Charleston. The walls are ensconced in beautiful tiles which have a botanical flair, and the kitchen feels like you'll be transported to Provence with French antiques from the 1800's and plenty of sparkly details.

A private home in a golf course community was lightened and brightened and dramatically improved.  We altered the layout and by removing a small closet were able to increase counters and improve function. The "new" space is a dream to work in, feels fresh and modern with all the amenities!

An un-used tub and a small shower were replaced with a grand tiled shower for two complete with a seat and generous storage.  Marble accent tile was selected for behind the vanity as well as in the shower niche. An extra deep closet was added for linens and luggage storage and the window in the shower matches the niche

Charleston Charmer Luxury Bathroom

This master bathroom is located in an historic home in Charleston originally built in 1794.  It features original brick and two (now gas) fireplaces, a walk-through shower for two and luxurious amenities including a marble feature wall and heated floors.  The space was formerly two bedrooms and an outdated bathroom, with closets covering windows and both fireplaces concealed behind walls.  The transformation took many months and was part of a whole-house renovation. 

Coastal Luxe

New construction amid tropical palms this "forever" home was planned for a couple nearing retirement.  Custom cabinets with classical elements in crisp white for all.  The kitchen features stainless steel, quartzite and wood floors as well as a full height quartz backsplash.  Additional custom storage was integrated in the bedroom and flanking the fireplace in the family room.

A quirky bathroom tucked into the eaves has a small awkward footprint and needed to be updated! The prior shower was too low for most adults to use and the shower door whacked the ceiling and couldn't be opened fully.  The  corner toilet was one of the better features and was incorporated into the new space.  Before and after pictures show this stunning transformation.

A renovation to enhance the lives of the busy family was completed for this kitchen in coastal South Carolina.  Removing a wall to expand the kitchen allowed room for a generous island and created an open concept home.  With room for three busy kids, Mom and Dad hope this can be their "forever" home.

A partial renovation involved eliminating wall cabinets and replacing them with custom floating shelves to display an impressive collection of cookware. Other goals were to create a space barware and a collection of fine spirits. The base cabinets and granite counters were retained to minimize cost and disruption.

A stately Daniel Island home is transformed to incorporate lighter finishes and a fresh update for a retired couple from Connecticut.  We added happy colors and touches of whimsy to work with their traditional furniture, antique rugs and international art collection.

Clever Niches

A small bathroom in lakeside home had an un-used bathtub and cramped plastic shower. A spa influenced zen retreat was created for the space by eliminating the tub and doubling the size of the shower.  A closet was added on the hall side and natural materials and soothing coastal colors were selected for this special client on a budget, the vanity and mirror were re-purposed without sacrificing style.

Island for Eight

The new owners of this suburban home wanted to put their own stamp on it with an infusion of coastal charm reminiscent of their beloved beach house on Cape Cod.  With three busy kids the major kitchen renovation needed to be family friendly and stunning visually.  At the hub of the open concept home the adjacent spaces included dining, family and mud rooms along with an open office, wine bar and butlers pantry...all located off of the kitchen. 
The Kitchens central banquette island seats six on cozy upholstered benches and two more seated diners at the ends. There is table seating for eight plus the back side (second island) boasts raised seating for four more on swiveling bar stools.  
The show-stopping coffered ceiling was custom designed and features beaded paneling, recessed can lighting and dramatic crown molding.  
The counters are made of Labradorite which is often associated with jewels.  It's iridescent sparkle adds glamour without being too loud or flashy.  
The wood paneled back-splash allows the cabinetry to blend in.  There is marble subway tile behind the range where splashing and cooking mess are most likely.
This lovely home features an open concept space with the kitchen at the heart.  Built in the late 1990's the prior kitchen was cherry, but dark. and the new family needed a fresh update.  
This great space was a collaboration between many talented folks including but not limited to the team at Delicious Kitchens & Interiors, LLC, L. Newman and Associates/Paul Mansback, Inc with Leslie Rifkin and Emily Shakra.  Additional contributions from the homeowners and Belisle Granite.

A major renovation for a second floor bathroom was challenging due to the small footprint, the former layout had the toilet positioned under a window and a cramped neo angled shower. The new space reflects a dramatic transformation including this custom vanity.

Seascape Escape

This Wild Dunes townhome was a treasured family beach getaway used by multiple families and guests.  A leak cause significant damage so a renovation ensued. The bathrooms were completely gutted and replaced creating fresh and modern rooms ready for the next visitors to enjoy while vacationing on this lovely island.

This stunning home is family and pet friendly.  With cabinetry by Plain & Fancy Custom Cabinetry in three finishes a variety of styles are blended.  The hearth mantle style hood, sink base and turnings along with the wine bar area are all in rich mahogany.  The main part of the kitchen is maple with a "Latte" finish and the island has a thick brush/crackle painted finish evoking an aged appearance.  Dramatic egg and dart moulding and glass doors provide an elegant backdrop for the casual dining near the stairs.

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League's 39th Designer Showhouse was held in the James Sanders House, circa 1851, located in Harleston Village on Wentworth Street in Charleston, SC.  Delicious Kitchens was again invited to participate and are pleased to present the Kitchen and adjacent Butler's Pantry

Garden Bathroom with Penny Tile and fun color

The Garden themed bathroom is a highlight of the 40th annual Designer Showhouse to benefit the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League!  The family bathroom on the second floor is intended to evoke a garden theme reminiscent of the historic homes with their secret courtyards located on the peninsula "South of Broad" in Charleston, SC. With their aged plaster and rich patina on the houses, you'll see that the custom art installation by Emily Harris captures this perfectly.

Island and breakfast nook

A custom post and beam full of family space and room to entertain.  The serene location features privacy and acreage.  There is a custom kitchen with a generous island and all the bells and whistles including a TV in the breakfast nook and a three sided glass fireplace too.  The luxurious master bathroom has a deep copper soaking tub and a shower big enough for two.  The glass basins are dazzling in the vanity and there are some interesting tile details too.  In the dining room and great room the custom touches continue, there is a mahogany bar and a painted hutch that looks like an antique, charming features and a soaring two sided stone fireplace.

A major renovation for a couple who intend to stay in their home this master bath combines savvy stylish storage with durable finishes.  The cabinetry is maple with a glazed finish, the natural granite is called Magma and the black accents in the tiled shower tie it all together.

This cozy kitchen fits right in with this style of this expansion Cape-Cod home.  Designed by Heidi Huddleston, CKD of Delicious Kitchens & Interiors the combination of warm finishes on the Plain & Fancy Cabinetry blends in beautifully with the homes interior.  High-performance stainless steel appliances share center stage.  The space functions ideally for the fun couple who live here with their two dogs.  They love to cook, entertain frequently and enjoy meals with their visiting adult kids and extended family. The fabrics, window treatments, lighting, fixtures and tile were selected by the  collaboration of designers which included L. Newman Associates, JR Langley, RE Marble and Granite, Inc among others.

This second floor laundry room is a stunning example of a well designed efficient space.  The custom cabinetry provides the proper storage and compliments the character of the house. This galley kitchen features cherry cabinets in rich tones with dramatic baroque crown molding and stainless steel appliances.  The arabesque tile back-splash in three colors is highlighted by unique feature areas over the range and at the buffet area.  The client collections are displayed in open shelves and behind seeded glass doors.  Seating at the banquette is on a walnut bench over deep drawers.  The table is also walnut while the granite island features additional stools for helpers or friends.

Sloped Ceiling with Chimney Hood

This cheery space is flooded with natural light with windows on three sides.  The high bead-board wood angled ceiling is accented by the dramatic tall cabinets with window-pane topped doors.  The shiny steel chimney style hood creates a focal point accented by the stunning marble and onyx back-splash installed horizontally on the walls. The smooth cook-top is so sleek it blends seamlessly into the honed granite counter top  The multi-level island has seating on three sides at two heights to accommodate 6 diners.  Rich hardwood floors anchor the space and the paint is a deep chalky charcoal with blue undertones. This budget-friendly charmer features hand made tiles depicting local birds and animals.  The granite counters resemble slate and the two under-mount sinks allow room for multiple cooks.

Dueling Drawers

This full bathroom serves guest bedrooms as well as functions as the laundry room.  The stylish detail on the doors and drawer fronts in a durable white finish is classic, yet a little bolder than typical.  Horizontal and vertical symmetry was created by using two drawers flanking two doors... no "false panel" or skinny drawer fronts here!

A complete renovation consisting of removing a wall between the kitchen and the closed off dining room to create an open fresh space with room for a crowd.  

Arched Island

This cheerful bright kitchen features sparkling glass back-splash reminiscent of sea glass found frolicking along the shore.  The fun-loving family treasures their beach time and wanted their new kitchen to reflect a coastal vibe.  A chimney style hood and stainless appliances are at home among the white cabinetry, polished granite and Vetrazzo counters.  The existing tile floor was retained and the new island accommodates six seated diners.  The island color is called Bretagne Blue and the granite is called Blue Pearl Ocean Blue, both with a quarter radius edge.

Big and beautiful

We removed the closet doors and added ample cabinetry, storage, counters and great lighting: the once tired dark space is now sunny and gorgeous.  The pocket door has freed up floor space and eased congestion in the adjacent hallway. A smooth ceiling, new ventilation and recessed can lighting as well as bright sconces were added.  Ample space for folding, closed storage (cabinets) and open shelves replaced a tired and dark cramped room.  With a generous shower and plenty of storage this multi-purpose laundry / bathroom is close to perfection... even the family dog approves: she loves the shower space. A mid-century ranch style home that had received an 80's update was in need of an over-haul.  The walls between the kitchen and dining area along with a small un-used den were removed to create a vast airy multi-purpose space for meals, entertaining and relaxation.  Mixed finishes on the cabinetry and quartz counters blend with the bamboo floor to create a cohesive space for a semi-retired couple.

This second floor bathroom serves the needs of the family with two school-aged children.  The house was built in the late 1970's and not much updating had been done by the prior owners.  The renovation included replacing the carpet with tile, reducing the size of the closet to accommodate a larger tub and nearly doubling the size of the vanity enabling dual sinks and many drawers.  The blue fixtures were replaced with shiny white efficient models and the result is classic and spa-worthy

This tropical and chic yet classic bathroom is on the second floor of an historic Charleston home built in the 1840's The new materials play nicely with the charming cast iron tub and neutral ceramic tile.  An array of mixed metals has been incorporated, featuring stunning fixtures in gleaming chrome and pewter.  The dramatic art ledge encircles the space holding framed works of art.  The paint colors in classic spa hues of blue and cream provide the perfect backdrop for special pre-party preparation or respite at days end. Classic. Tropical.  Delightful.

Three bathrooms in this home were renovated at the same time.  They all featured terrible storage in tired vanilla finishes.  In order to maintain consistency the same cabinet finishes were selected; rich chocolate stain on maple creates an updated contemporary feel for this home.

This budget friendly project proves that great style can be achieved in a small space with limited funds.  This late 1970's home needed a big fix in a big hurry without big dollars. The multi-level island provides seating and preparation space in addition to great storage.  The savvy homeowners pinched pennies and did all of the demolition themselves.  They upgraded where appropriate... heavy duty drawers, recycle center and moulding allowed dramatic and inexpensive lighting above and below the wall cabinets providing BIG bang for their hard-earned bucks.

Exposed beams and a dramatic round-top window are features in this two-tone maple kitchen.  The contrasting trim moulding is a stylish accent for this terrific space.  The book case at the end allows display space while concealing the refrigerator and giving it a built-in appearance.

36 Society Street Showhouse

As the first 'room' visitors encounter, the airy piazza we decorated sets the home's tone with a fresh and relaxed feel awash in texture.  An array of seating - from durable wrought iron chairs and a sofa to the Original Charleston Bedswing - invites causal lounging.  Driftwood, shell and pale wood accents echo the property's coastal environs while a larger collection of pillows and fabrics cozy up the outdoor space.
